Your privacy matters to us. This statement explains which data holiday home ’t Heufke collects, why, and what your rights are.

Who is responsible?

Holiday home ’t Heufke, Vredesplein 26, 9630 Zwalm (Belgium), company number BE 0862.162.823. Questions about privacy? Email theufke.info@gmail.com or call +32 473 34 30 22.

What data do we collect?

When you fill in the request form, or email or call us, we process:

  • your name, email address and phone number;
  • the number of guests and your preferred arrival and departure dates;
  • anything you mention yourself in the comments or your message;
  • technical data such as your IP address, which the form sends automatically to prevent abuse and spam.

For a confirmed reservation, we also process the payment details of your bank transfer.

Why?

  • Handling your request and organising your stay: to contact you, confirm availability and carry out your reservation (performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering into one).
  • Accounting: we keep invoices and payments because the law requires it (legal obligation).
  • Website security: to stop spam and abuse of the form (legitimate interest).

We never use your data for marketing and never sell it to third parties.

Who processes data for us?

We use a few service providers who only do what is needed to run the website and the form:

  • Web3Forms forwards the contents of the request form to our mailbox.
  • Google (Gmail) is our mailbox. The website’s fonts are also loaded through Google Fonts, which passes your IP address to Google.
  • Cloudflare hosts the website, fetches availability, uses Turnstile to check that the form is filled in by a human and produces anonymous visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics, without cookies).
  • OpenStreetMap provides the map. The interactive map only loads when you click it; only then is your IP address passed to OpenStreetMap.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Union. They use the appropriate safeguards provided by European law, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

How long do we keep your data?

  • Requests that do not lead to a stay are deleted no later than one year after your last contact.
  • Reservation data is kept for as long as Belgian accounting law requires (currently 10 years).

Cookies and statistics

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. To see how the website is used (e.g. number of visitors, which pages, which website they came from), we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It works without cookies, does not track you across other websites and does not store data that can identify you personally; we only see totals. Cloudflare Turnstile may use technically necessary data to stop spam.

Your rights

You can always ask to access, correct or delete your data. You can also object to processing, ask us to restrict it, or request a copy of your data to transfer it elsewhere. Just email theufke.info@gmail.com; we reply within one month.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
